Hello everyone!

I'm sorry I have not updated in a while. I'll try to do better :O). I just wanted to let you all know that I am going to Niger October 10th...yes, in just four short days! It is amazing all the things that have come together in the past month. God brought all my support in (Woohoo!), my visa application went smoothly, I purchased my plane tickets and insurance, and I've had the opportunity to visit a bunch of people.

I can't believe it's finally here! Thanks for your part in this!

Hello SIM! 07/26/2011

It's official, folks! Today my Summer 2011 SIMCO (SIM candidate orientation) class was welcomed into SIM and commissioned to go into the world and "embrace our sentness".

The journey of joining SIM has been an interesting one--one in which God taught me perseverance, patience and to trust in His timing and plan. I am now preparing to go back to Niamey, Niger, the land of my youth, and serve God as a dorm assistant at Sahel Academy. I am really excited about how God is leading me and am ready to go as soon as my support comes in.

This past week at SIMCO has been really great meeting the staff of SIM USA, meeting other missionaries preparing to go all over the world, and hearing testimonies of God's faithfulness. I am filled with anticipation as I recall the words of Isaiah 55:12-13 which say:
"You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands. Instead of the thornbush will grow the juniper, and instead of briers the myrtle will grow. This will be for the LORD's renown, for an everlasting sign that will endure forever."
